It is found throughout Hungary and, in recent times, has also expanded into a significant portion of forested lowland areas.
According to official estimates, approximately 82,000 wild boar live in Hungary, with about 10% residing in game enclosures. The annual harvest amounts to around 65,000 individuals, including 15,500 boars.
Wild boar are hunted both individually and as part of organized group hunts. Individual hunting methods include stalking, tracking, or following tracks (trail hunting)—typically done in winter while pursuing a boar. Other methods include stand hunting, often at baiting sites, and carriage-driven hunting.
Group hunts may take the form of driven hunts or battue. On open hunting grounds, a minimum of 12 hunters is required for organized group hunting.
Our average daily wild boar bag ranges between 15 and 20 animals, although it is not uncommon to exceed 30.
We organize exclusive hunts in game enclosures ranging from 500 to 1,200 hectares. In these areas, daily bags can reach up to 100 animals, with an average harvest typically between 40 and 60.
For our exclusive driven wild boar hunts, we welcome hunting groups starting from 5 participants.
