In Hungary, the huntable small game species include the pheasant, partridge, wild duck, wild goose, dove, and European brown hare.
In recent years, our small game programs have provided unforgettable experiences for groups of 4 to 8 hunters, combining pass shooting for wild ducks with pit hunting for wild geese.
Walk-up pheasant hunts during the day are especially popular, with daily bags reaching 60–80 birds.
Upon special request, we also offer European brown hare hunting, which—given a suitable group size—can yield daily bags of up to 100 hares.
The population dynamics of small game species can vary from year to year, depending on weather conditions, food availability, and hunting regulations. Hungarian hunting authorities and organizations closely monitor these populations and establish appropriate hunting quotas and regulations to ensure sustainable hunting and the protection of small game species.
The hunting of small game in Hungary has long-standing and rich traditions, playing an important role in the country’s hunting culture and economy.
To be successful, hunters often need patience, skill, and keen observation during the hunt.
